Love

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.
That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business.
What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.

Goodbye Soccer!

The kids both had fun playing soccer this season.  But it was really Owen who lived and breathed soccer during every waking moment and dreamed about it when not awake.  Chloe liked dressing up like a soccer player and occasionally chasing and kicking the ball, but was equally entertained playing in the dirt.  She also liked getting her soccer trophy after the last soccer game.

She also got this little, plastic, gold star trophy which is now in a treasured spot on her bedroom shelves.

During Owen's trophy ceremony (of which, I got absolutely no pics partially due to disorganized distribution and partially for this-->) I saw Chloe giggling on the stairs with friends as they poked at something.  I had to walk over to see what was being tortured.  I thought it was going to be a grasshopper, but it ended up being this little hoppy toad.

Look at his skinny little frog legs and bumpy little toes!

I rescued the toad and released him far, far away from pesky five year olds.  Then it was time to stand in line for food.  They were grilling hot dogs and burgers.  Owen didn't want to stand with us and sat on the railing with a grumpy face.  Not sure what that was about.

Fortunately, he was able to pull it together and entertain himself with sitting and "Look Mom, no hands!"
