Love

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.
That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business.
What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.

Friday Night Karate

Friday night karate is always a fun way to end the week. This was no exception, with lots of jumping and kicking.  Can you tell there was excitement in the air?

They practiced by hitting the noisy bags (they make a loud pop when struck because the ends are separate and clap together).

They practiced kicking, too.  With loud kee-yahs!

The class was rewarded with a high five slip for good behavior.  After collecting five high five awards, they can turn them in to receive a black life skills stripe on the belt.  If the kids earn 12 or more life skills stripes, they will be invited to a really special pizza party after the belt testing.  Owen is trying so hard to earn enough stripes to be included and this is one of our main topics of conversation....do we think he will be able to earn enough stripes?  Will he get to go?

Chloe's class began immediately after Owen's ended.  They count to ten in Korean while holding stretches.  You can see in the back of this photo that it was still warm outside and the back door of the karate studio was open wide.

Chloe has one of the best middle stances because she gets so low to the ground with her feet spread wide.

Running jumps are loved by all the kids!

The class ends with the kids thanking the parents for bringing them.  Do you think the kids had fun?
