I went up to school to have lunch with Owen for his birthday. He got a special free ice cream for his birthday.
After lunch, his teacher said it was okay for me to bring the cookie cake back to the classroom to share with his classmates. Owen's best buddy in class, Tayden, helped pass out the cookies.
After all pieces were passed out, Owen asked his teacher for permission to shake his hips and she said yes.
His classmates slowly joined in.
Until the whole class was up on their feet and shaking and grooving like nobody's business. There wasn't any music playing, but you'd think there was by looking at these photos. It was a really neat moment to watch a bunch of 8 and 9 year olds dancing together like this. I'm glad I was there to share it with him!
Owen and Tayden are constantly working on writing and illustrating a book together. They have created their own Club Penguin characters.
There friend Adam had to join in the group hug.
And at the end of karate, Owen got the traditional birthday belt spankings from his classmates and instructors as he ran to through their line.
And then back again.
I love that school and Tae Kwon Do friends helped make celebrating his weekend birthday so special on a Friday!
