A Trip to Marietta Square

We drove over to downtown Marietta to meet our friend Wendy and her son Logan playing in the square.  We stopped in front of this cool painted brick wall after getting out of the car to snap a couple of pictures.

Chloe thought she would be sweet and give her brother a kiss.  Can you see he was not a willing recipient?

She was happy to stand by herself and smile for me.  :)

Before we even got to the square, Chloe had found a ladybug.

Logan is a little cutie and running all over the place.

Chloe wanted to jump up and ring the bell.

She jumped high and was able to touch it.

Logan thought this little bell on a train engine was fun.

Chloe kept ringing it over and over for him. 

Look at this silly girl!  Always a silly face.  :)

Chloe had a lot of fun playing with Logan and following him around.  She loves babies.

But she still needs quite a bit of supervision since she doesn't realize babies aren't as tough as she is and don't have as much balance.  Wendy was always close by.

 Chloe and Logan had fun running around the fountain together and sitting on the steps for a heart-to-heart chat.

This boy loves to bring his soccer ball everywhere and was thrilled it was allowed on this outing.  :)

This silly girl got ants in her pants on the way back to our car.

She started snapping her fingers and dancing for me.

Date Night!

Our favorite babysitter came over to watch the kids.  She is THE best and we love her to pieces.   So do the kids, which is even better!

We went out for dinner at PF Changs and enjoyed a double dose of Kung Pao Shrimp with brown rice.  Yum!

Guess Who Lost Her First Tooth?!

This girl has had a wiggly bottom tooth for weeks.  Weeks!  We have asked if we could help her pull it out.  Suggested tying dental floss to it and shutting a door.  But she would literally jump back as she said "No!"  And then she had a big silly grin on her face when I picked her up from after-school.

It's hard to tell where the lost tooth came from since she is a little shark.  The new tooth was already half way grown in behind the old loose tooth!

She was so excited to show off her toothless mouth that she couldn't sit still.  I might have yelled at her to be still, which would explain this ultra-serious face.

It didn't last long.  Chloe was right back to her normal, silly self bouncing off the walls.  Asking questions about whether or not the Tooth Fairy would come?  How the Tooth Fairy would know she lost a tooth?  How would the Tooth Fairy get inside our house?   What if the Tooth Fairy couldn't find her tooth?  How much money would the Tooth Fairy leave?  Would it be five dollars like the Tooth Fairy left Owen for his first tooth?  Or would it be only a dollar, like the rest of Owen's teeth?

For the record, the Tooth Fairy came and went without incident.  She left five dollars under Chloe's pillow for her first tooth and safely stashed the tooth in a hiding spot because she knew that Mommy had just ordered a special tooth bank on Amazon the night before.  Now Chloe can fill up her tooth bank that is just like Owen's.  :)

Dinner Faces

I had just purchased a new lens to replace one that sold.  It got unpacked and opened up during the dinner hour.  After my dinner was consumed.  And Todd's, too.  But the kids still had food in front of them.  Shocker.

They were both happy to make their favorite faces for me.

This face has lasted for several months now.  I wonder how much longer we will be seeing this puffy cheeked, squinty-eyed boy.

Owen's Soccer Game

I set up my normal spot at the end of the field so I'd have a good view of the whole field and not have parents or kids walking right in front of my camera.  See in my sunglasses how well I can see the field? :)

Chloe started off on the sidelines smack in the middle of the field to get the best view of her brother starting off the game.

But her brother's soccer performance only holds her attention for so long.  She wanted me to take her picture and so she danced.

And she twirled.

Owen is good at getting the ball away from the opposing team and running it down the field.

After this kick, he lost his balance and took a nose dive in the dirt.  Whoops.  But my boy is tough.  He was right back up and running with his team mates in a heart beat.  Go Owen, go!

I think this boy secretly loves to be chosen for the corner kicks when the other team kicked the ball out.  Notice the chalk flying up off the ground?  That soccer ball is long gone.

A Trip to the Dentist

Chloe was the first to go and did a good job sitting still for x-rays and getting her teeth cleaned.

Owen supervised while Ms. Dawn cleaned Chloe's teeth.  Chloe didn't have any cavities, but was told she needs to brush better because quite a bit of plaque got scraped off her little teeth.

Owen didn't have any cavities either and was told he does a pretty good job brushing his teeth.  Way to go Owen!

Yay for kids with no cavities!!!

In Search of Photography Locations

We went for a long drive this morning to find locations where I could photograph families.  Owen didn't want to get out of the car because he was reading a book.  But Chloe was happy to get out of the car and walk around with me.

This is a great spot, but better in the later afternoon and early evening when the morning sun isn't speckling through the leaves.

After checking out a local elementary school, we headed over to the public library and checked out the bridge in the front.

The kids liked looking down at the water underneath.

We went to Hot Dog Heaven for lunch and ate outside.  The little restaurant has been in downtown Woodstock for close to ten years, but we have never eaten there before.  The hot dogs were gooood.

Owen has a thing for bunny ears.

He even gives himself bunny ears.  Each of the next five shots after this silly wide-eyed look had bunny ears creeping up behind his head.

Chloe liked these large pot of flowers.

Chloe wanted to climb up on the train caboose.

After a fun photoshoot with two little girls, we went out for Mexican with friends.  Chloe dressed herself and thought she looked absolutely fabulous.

Walking up to the restaurant, we saw our reflection in a helmet.  Look close and you may see Owen's cheeks all puffed out in his favorite silly face with squinty eyes.

Chloe even let me braid her hair before we went out for dinner.  We thought she looked super cute, too. :)
