Soccer Awards

What a fun-filled day!  Dunking karate instructors and now playing at JJ Biello park with soccer friends, cake and trophies.  Good times!  Chloe was happy to swing.

And slide down the hill on leftover cardboard boxes.

It was a gorgeous evening.

Each team was called to the front of the pavilion while the coaches gave short speeches and recognized each player with a special trophy engraved with their name. 

The kids were so proud!

They wanted to show off their trophies and held them up as high as they could for everyone to see.

After the second grade ceremonies were over, we hung out on the hill with our friend Paul for a little while longer so the kids could play.

By the time we got home, it was close to 9pm and we had two tired kids!

Little Horse Watches Soccer

Right away, Owen scored a goal.  He kicked it from his team's goal and it went over all the midfielders, bounced once and went past a shocked goalie on the other team.  Way to go, Owen!

For this soccer game, we brought Dylan along with us.

After that first goal, Owen was out on the field and kicking from the corner.

Dylan was a good boy and chilled during the game.  He also got a lot of attention from other kids at the soccer games.

Owen scored another goal and started into a cartwheel.

And was so excited that he went right into another!

And while Owen was scoring goals and turning cartwheels, Chloe was practicing backbends with another girl.

Cloudy With a Chance of Soccer

The cloud cover made for a cooler evening.

Chloe was busier than the players and quite thirsty.

She was even practicing her cartwheels!

She's doing great getting her feet up in the air, isn't she?

Soccer Practice Under the Moon

Soccer practice started at 6pm and the moon was already out keeping watch.

Most of the time, Chloe is lucky enough to participate in practice.  Even though she isn't wearing shin guards and that is a requirement for the team members to be allowed to practice.

Owen took turns with some of the other kids playing goalie.

In between players kicking the ball at the goal, our boy was turning cartwheels.

When she gets bored, she nibbles.

It is so fun watching Owen play soccer in a field and see that he loves it so much more than kicking the ball against our front door.

Chloe decided she had enough of practice and started running around the outskirts of the field.

And then she got too mouthy for her own good and sat on the sidelines for the remainder of practice.  So hard being six sometimes.

Owen's Soccer Game

Grandma Vicki got to come see Owen play in a soccer game for the first time.  Owen was so proud to have her come watch.  He got to start off the game playing goalie.

He wasn't in the goal long, before he was out kicking the ball all around the field.

This boy jumps at the chance to kick from the corners of the field!

Owen controls the ball.

Bean hung out in the coaching tent so she could be in on the coach's business and what Todd was telling the players to do.

Soccer Practice

Another evening of soccer practice and it was a bit chilly.  And windy.  Someone was flying a kite at the other end of the soccer fields.

Chloe was working on homework she brought along and snuggled up in her jacket.

Even the coaches looked a bit chilly in their long sleeves before practice really got started.

The colder temps didn't bother our boy.  He's all about playing soccer, regardless of the weather.  This boy is already HOT!

Chloe tired of doing homework and started a hunt for four leaf clovers.

She has the best luck of anyone I know.  Every clover had four leaves.  :) At least when she was holding them.

Saturday Morning Soccer

We were out bright and early at the soccer fields this morning.

It was chilly and windy, which made us dress a little crazy.  ;)

Soccer players don't need jackets or long sleeves because they are tough.

Dylan was happy to come along with us and even happier to get extra attention from the kids walking around since he was Easter Egg Purple.

Chloe stayed busy during Owen's game by running around, playing with other kids, showing off Dylan and picking flowers for her Momma.
