Sunset Is Coming Earlier

Todd took Owen out to the batting cages this evening.  Chloe played in the street.

She was excited that she got to ride Owen's rip rider (because Owen wasn't there to say no and Todd didn't answer his phone when I called for permission.  Mom chose to help Owen share).  But this expression was over the sunset.

It really was a gorgeous sunset.

The colors just kept getting more and more beautiful.

With every change, Chloe was even more in awe.  I loved her reactions to the oncoming evening sky.

I loved how she would stop just to watch and take in the beauty.  I love this girl.

Soccer Practice

It was a nice evening for soccer practice, although a bit chilly.  Chloe was wearing her shirt I brought back from San Diego Zoo.  It says "POOPER SCOOPER."  I thought it fitting, since she has been known to say "I'm a little girl and I clean up poop!" The shirt goes well with her polka dotted pajama bottoms, don't you think?

Even when practice hasn't started, Owen is all about kicking that ball around the field.  He can not get enough soccer time!

A gorgeous sunset ended the practice a little early before the close struck seven, although the kids still kept playing in the dark.

I loved what the sun was doing as it shone in the car while driving to karate.

Sunset

It was around 9:30 when I noticed the sun was going down.  I wanted to get some pictures at the lake, so I grabbed my tripod and Todd and we walked down together.  It was quiet.  No one was on the lake that we could see, although one boat came back to shore while I was shooting.

I learned that for good sunset pictures, it helps if there are clouds.  Many more clouds than these few puny ones we had.  But this was good practice for setting up my tripod and slowing down the shutter speed to almost half a minute for some exposures.

I had wanted to get up before dawn to take pictures at the lake as the sun is rising, but this morning I realized that my body is truly in vacation mode and incapable of being happily awake before dawn.  So I'll try to catch some more sunsets on our four remaining days Up North.
