Today went slowly, which was great as none of us are really ready to go back to reality tomorrow. Although we stayed home and didn't travel anywhere warm, this was our own week of vacation. As a family of just us four. And it was heavenly.
This morning, we put together Chloe's new bedframe and then ooooohed over her bed being so much higher than before. Higher than Owen's bed. Or ours. We also turned it sideways to run the length of her shelves, which opened up quite a bit of floor space for her.
Owen thought that was so cool and asked if we would turn his bed sideways. So we did. His pillows are now right next to his windows and his feet point toward the door and his fish tank. Once his bed was turned and Chloe's room pretty much clean, Owen was sweet to his sister and pulled her hair back in a pony tail and added in pink princess braids from our trip to Disney one year ago.
Before lunch time, Owen took off with his friend Preston to go to an indoor skateboard park filled with at least a dozen ramps. Some of which were over twelve feet high! Owen said he was too scared to go on those, but he went on plenty of others. He had a great time and said that he wants to go again next weekend. While he was gone, Chloe snuggled in her Daddy's lap while we all watched Benji.
She also helped her Daddy wash all of the downstairs windows. Inside and out. A bit of laundry got done this afternoon. As did a bit of crocheting. Some expired leftovers got pitched from the fridge and an extra load went through the dishwasher. It wasn't a particularly exciting day (with the exception of Owen's afternoon), but it was good. It was a great ending to a perfect week of us enjoying each others' company. Of watching movies, playing games and reading books. Of singing and dancing and laughing. Of snuggles and hugs and a few late nights up past bedtimes. And even, a little ice cream.
