Love

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.
That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business.
What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.

Aunt Kiki's Birthday Dinner

To celebrate Aunt Kiki's birthday, we met up at our favorite Mexican restaurant.  I was glad we were able to talk her into sitting on the patio...it always has perfect lighting for pictures!

Owen was being a kissy boy, running from one person to the next to give out kisses!

All the Grandmas got kisses.

Even over long stretches.

Or over shoulders.

While we were waiting on our dinner to come out, Chloe helped open up Aunt Kiki's cards and Owen read them.

Then she opened up our present and read the inscription on the back before turning it around.

We saw a similar painting months ago when we were out shopping for her new apartment.  I promised I would paint her flowers in her colors for her living room.

We won't discuss how many months it took me to do this, okay?  It made for the perfect birthday present!

Owen wrapped the wrapping paper around his shoulders like a cape and took off running around the patio like a wild thing.

Such fun to see the joy on this boy's face while he was running around like this.

He couldn't stop watching behind him to see how the paper was flying out like a real cape.

This little girl wanted to sing karaoke and do the Cha Cha Slide dance.

The Bean makes great faces, doesn't she?

She was so excited to do the Cha Cha Slide that she took off running and hair was flying everywhere.  Hair flying everywhere is intentional.  Chloe has perfected her saunter that makes her hair swing from one side to the other, even in a walk.

She was just glowing and smiling, waiting on the music to start.

The DJ joined in with the dance moves.

As did the DJ's daughter.  We had fun watching the three of them shuffle, hop and slide.

This is the first time that the boy didn't want to join in the karaoke singing.

Did I mention that Chloe likes to make her hair fly?  Absolutely loves it!

HaPpY bIrThDaY aUnT kIkI!!!
