Love

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.
That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business.
What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.

Owen's Soccer Practice

After dinner, we headed over to the soccer fields at the back of our neighborhood to watch Owen practice with his team.

Owen gets just as excited about head-butting soccer balls as his Daddy.

I love these tall trees that surround the soccer fields.  I love listening to the wind rifling through their leaves.

Once practice begins, the teams starts by stretching.

And then stretching some more.

Chloe had to bring her Dora umbrella to practice.

This boy gets sooooo sweaty during practice.

Good thing we bring a big jug of water for him :)

Chloe was trying to sweet talk me into letting her use my camera to take pictures by herself.

So I let her (gasp!) because she asked so nice and had strict instructions to keep that strap around her neck and to not drop it and not go crazy pushing buttons.

She went a little crazy, pushing the shutter release button and quickly took dozens of pictures in just seconds.  But she did a good job getting pics of the grandparents who came to practice to watch Owensk.

And then she wanted to take pics of our long shadows.

After practice was over and we were walking back to our car, we saw this hawk.  My camera was off and hanging by my hip, so it was a race to get the lens cap off and the camera turned on before he took off.  He was humongous!

I only got that above pic before he flew off in a hurry.  It was amazing how close we were to him...probably less than 20 feet.

It was a really great evening to have two grandparents along who never get to see Owen play soccer other than in our backyard!
