Love

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.
That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business.
What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.

Last Night of Being Seven Years Old

We were all supposed to go to the pool after school this evening, but Chloe had been misbehaving at school.  So she stayed home with Todd.  I thought it would be a nice evening out alone with Owensk, but it didn't really work out the way either one of us wanted.  It wasn't the warmest day.

It was a little windy.

We didn't know any of the other kids at the pool.

And the water was chilly.  :(

He came and sat by my feet for awhile.

Then a Grandma called and made him smile.

And then he picked his toes while he listened.

He tried the water again...

But it was still cold...

So he got out of the water.

And then we drove around the back roads and looked at cows and horses and goats and sheep.  We talked about going into some stores, but he walked out of the house not wearing shoes.  We tried calling his favorite babysitter, Miss Jessie, to see if we could stop by to say hi and get a few hugs...but she didn't answer her phone.

It was a disappointing end to year number seven.  None of our plans worked out for the evening like we had wanted.  I think by the time we got home, Owen was ready to go to bed.  He was excited for the morning to come because he knew he was getting a hamster for turning eight years old. :)
