Love

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.
That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business.
What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.

Quiet Christmas Evening

As the snow continued to fall and weather predictions of bad roads with ice came through, our family decided to head home.  It was the quietest and most empty our house has ever been on Christmas evening.  We video chatted with Papa Wenzel and Grandma Sharon (THANK YOU for braving your nasty Minnesota roads to find free wi-fi in front of the local coffee shop).  Since they couldn't be here in person, video chatting and seeing their faces (and Jude's!) was really the next best thing.  :)

What was supposed to be a very large dinner with barely enough room for all the food on the dining room table ended up being a very quiet dinner with just the four of us and Grandma Vicki.  It was still snowing hard when we headed up to bed.

Here is the view from our bedroom door.  The snow was beautiful.

I'm not sure if the kids realized there were fewer presents than previous years.  We tried to keep the focus on the importance of being with family.  And the true meaning of Christmas was discussed several times as we talked about the birth of Jesus on this day so many hundreds of years ago.

Merry Christmas to all.  And to all, a good night!
